(Note: This is a call center; your role as an engineer will be in that context and environment.) HUGE cultural problem here. As in, a legitimate hindrance of your ability to do day-to-day work. Engineering leadership brings up hot-button political topics during standup and is implicit in letting interpersonal office politics fester. Lead dev's idea of giving feedback is demeaning and gives confrontational DMs in Slack (1 other person recently quit due in large part to this alone). CEOs are not interested in getting to know the Engineering team apart from playing pretend Product Manager by micromanaging the UX guy. Very serious problems - bordering on hostile work environment - are not addressed. I was not given COBRA coverage in a law-mandated timely manner until 4 months later, when I finally got a federal agent with the Department of Labor involved. Had there not been COVID moratoriums on fines, normally that'd be a $60K fine for the company. Really, this is just the tip of the iceberg with this place and the management. Some people should just not be in positions of power. In short, this place is not good for your mental health and you may walk away with trust issues.
