Pros

The benefits are truly incredible, all things considered. That's why I thought it was a legitimate place to work. I also appreciate being able to close the doors and walk away at night knowing I'll be able to pick up where I left off the next day. The uniforms are good quality, flattering, and easy to care for, but cost about $100 if you want a week's worth of shirts.

Cons

It's absolutely nightmarish. First of all, the titles given to staff are misnomers invented to make themselves sound distinguished. Second, you are basically on your own. My store is tiny. There are a total of six people working there, and that's all. If you need something, your only option is to get the GM--who seems much more concerned with calling "non-renewals" and taking inventory on a weekly basis than helping actual customers in the store. The whole business model is two-faced. Half of the store is trying to sell beat-up furniture to whoever makes the mistake of coming through the door, and the other half is trying to get it back when they stop paying for it.

Pros

benefits are ok at best.

Cons

everything else. hours, working there years and getting no raise, having your job threatened on a daily basis, incompetent leaders, abusive leaders at the top (thats you joe fedoracheck! you are downright abusive. a good leader listens to his people and doesn't berate them.) very cut throat and underhanded. shady customers, shady sales practices. would never work here again.

Pros

The company should be commended for their efforts to help the less fortunate. Helping people own furniture, electronics and appliances on low income with no credit check is good. Reporting to credit bureau on payout is cool. Benefits ok. MY manager is amazing. People I work with are cool.

Cons

Long list! We try to help people with bad/no credit and people try to take advantage. Harassing people is not the business I want to be in. I understand the necessity but calling people up to 5 times a day and going to their houses to collect money or merchandise is unsavory and scary! The hours SUCK! 8am-9pm almost every day! Regional management harasses managers daily even when we are on goals and do not give credit where credit is due. Also I am suppose to be a manager in training and all I have done is accounts for the past year. I feel inexperienced on the sales floor because I have no time to learn anything! I do not ever want to be a GM here!
