Cons

Where do I start? Working for Aaron's/Homesmart is ridiculous! My first few months there was GREAT! I don't mind hard work and I was treated well by my young manager. The rest of the staff was like family. This was all because we just opened up a new Homesamrt in the area. I still was unaware of how the company worked. As far as I was concerned, I had no problems with it, until I found out all the duties one man had to deal with...first up for phone calls, first up for customers, first up for service, first up for deliveries, etc. It was crazy!!! I then began to realize that this company truly stunk when they can trade employees like baseball cards. One guy that work with us was traded to another store so they could make room for a new employee. It was this new employee that destroyed a once fun place to work and made it into hell. He came in there and immediately started talking trash about everyone, saying he would fire everyone in the store(I get back to this later). He kept bragging about how he was manager in a store in Florida but quit to come take care of his parents(a total lie). I'm sure he was fired! Anyway, he started to brainwash the young manager, filling his head with all this corporate nonsense. Then we got a new regional manager and that was the end. He demanded that all this extra work, on top of the already insane day that lay ahead. Every Friday, there was a stupid morning meeting.... all for a measly $10.25 hr. I barley made my bills every week. I think the final straw was when I got mad because, being a single father, I told the manager I don't get to see my child anymore. I was working from 8-9am to sometimes 8-9pm. The delivery guys sometime worked until 10-11pm!! It was crazy!! But it was ok for the manager to leave early when he wanted or take a few hours off for a doctor's appointment, or go see his girlfriend. When I called in sick ONCE, he gave me an attitude! I NEVER called in sick! And the reason I did was because I had a seizure bought on by all the stress from work!! Finally, this new employee got his way and had all the original crew fired, including me. Too much backstabbing in that place! I will NEVER work for a company like Aaron's/Homesmart again! Way too much stress for me!!! Life is too short to deal with that nonsense! One good point though...the store was getting so many returns because NOBODY can afford anything anymore! So, I no longer have to deal with trying to keep up and sell the endless supply of USED furniture that keeps coming back to the store. I was starting to wonder how all that stuff was going to be sold. No more moving furniture on a daily base, no more dealing with dumb customers, no more pushing heavy lawn mowers outside everyday, no more cleaning up after dirty pigs that come into the store, no more dealing with backstabing aholes!! Not my problem anymore!! See ya!!!

Pros

pay, lots of hours, which can be a con in some instances.

Cons

Constant backbiting from all levels of employees. You'd hate to think what they say when you aren't around. Hiring process is unorganized at best. almost non-existent training.
