Pros

Fairly easy job, Not alot of stress depending on management.

Cons

My management can't answer any of my questions. Insurance, Benefits, time off, pay, Etc... Any time a question is asked or something is needed from my General Manager all you get is ok i'll get to it... My training consisted of me watching videos that im supposed to take tests over then my GM taking the tests for me. Not sure how your supposed to learn that way. Not to mention I had been employed for 4 mo before i even began to do any training. They were always complaining about me not doing this by policy or that by policy... ITS NO WONDER... I NEVER HAD ANY TRAINING. This company is some of the most foul mouthed people I have ever heard. Everyone from my Manager to my GM and from my Regional Manager on up. Cursing and bad mouthing people infront of other associates. When you deliver for this company it is all people that have no self worth. I have been to one moderately nice house in the entire time i have been with the company. Roaches in every home and you have to pick up things from peoples houses like refrigerators with rotton meat and bugs in them and then clean it all out when you get back to the store so it can be re-sold.

Pros

Pay is commensurate with market rates Perks like tickets to concerts, games, and races Great discounts on furniture

Cons

The place is career suicide for all but a select few. Don't expect them to offer you any exposure to current technologies to keep your skills relevant. You'll have to do that yourself. The good old boy club is alive and well at this company, so don't expect to make it into any position of director level or executive responsibility as a woman. Think I'm kidding? There are exactly 0 female directors and vice presidents in this company. As technology goes, they were finally starting to enter the 1990's when I left. At that time, they were finally moving from an old Clipper (?!?!?) based point of sale to a SQL based point of sale. But, the executives at this company don't like technology and their spending shows it. They try to do everything super-cheap, so most projects turn out to be disasters and this just perpetuates the cycle of distrust in technology.
