No Diversity, Distrusting and Political

Pros

Unlimited time off off salary, benefits, on-site or remote options, some good people

Cons

There is no diversity. 4 women out of almost 60 employees, and the rest are white men but 1. There is no trust with leaders and employee's best interest does not exist. Little value is placed on work-life balance. Teams run thin and the demand is at time unrealistic. Employee privacy is not honored and leadership will share confidential information amongst each other, other employees and no human resources department exists to protect anyone internally. The wage gap between hourly and salary is large. Great ideas with terrible follow through. Derogatory treatment. No filter in company-wide meetings with inappropriate jokes made throughout. Men have made mistakes at the company against policy and kept their jobs.

Thank you for your feedback. We continue to become more diverse as a company. Unfortunately, you are mistaken with the demographics. We have 12 women that work at aboutgolf including 3 in our senior leadership team and 4 who are managers. We just hired another woman to join our finance and accounting team. With respect to employee privacy, we keep a very open and transparent culture and I update the company weekly with everything from revenue, our cash balances to highlights and challenges we face. We certainly keep private employee matters confidential and only surface material events within HR. I find it odd that you would call our the "wage gap" between hourly and salaried employees. We don't divulge this type of confidential information and only certain employees have access to this information. Based on your feedback, it certainly sounds like you parted with aboutGOLF in a negative way. I would be happy to discuss your feelings on these matters. We are open to making things better. Best of luck in your next venture.

Pros

The non-management folks are really great, work hard, and get along with each other well

Cons

I worked there for many years. It Started out as a great company with management that really cared about their employees. A few years ago new management was brought in and they are very paranoid of others, very secretive, and don't care about their employees at all. It's a money game to them, with little or no regard to whom they are stepping on along the way. Management style marked by arrogance, secrets and belittling. Have a thick skin and you will do okay.

Pros

No micromanagement and everyone is friendly and fun to be around

Cons

I haven’t had a single evaluation since I’ve been employed and will most likely have to quit soon if nothing is done in the near future
