Pros

I am writing this in the wake of my departure with the recent RIF that occurred on 12/6. I was very sad to leave such a great company and while this next part is difficult for those of us out of a job during the holidays, it doesn't overshadow the fact that this is still a great company to work for. Here is a small sample of the many great things about working at Abrigo: * The people (duh!) - Most people here are really great to work with, team-focused, highly skilled, great work ethic, and fun! A few people take themselves WAY too seriously, but you'll find that anywhere, and here less than most places. * The Culture - Company sponsored events ranging from lots of holiday-related events to charity fundraisers to contests. There are sponsored clubs (dozens of them) with monthly events, monthly happy hours, and employee-driven events (paint your pet anyone?). They make it so easy to really get to know your co-workers, which builds camaraderie, and that makes it easier to work together. * Work Environment - The offices are awesome, the equipment (computers, etc) is modern, and the systems are productivity-enhancing. The company is making prudent investments in the right tools and technology to help everyone do their work well, and that drives employee satisfaction. * The Work Itself: I can't speak for everyone, but having worked in a position where I interfaced with people from most departments I feel like most people feel really challenged by the work that they are doing, and that's always a good thing. Employees can almost always have an opportunity to have an impact on the company.

Cons

There aren't a ton of negatives, but there are a few: * Conflict Resolution - The company has had several incidents where conflicts between people/departments was not handled well, and that caused people to leave. This has GREATLY improved with the addition of the CPO, but there is still room for improvement. Things are definitely going in the right direction here. * Advancement - This is really a mixed bag and not really a con. I think there is good opportunity for advancement at Abrigo and in my time there I did see many people take the next step in their careers. However, this is a bit uneven across the organization and there are some teams that are better at articulating what is necessary to take that next step than others. The company is actively working on this with training initiatives, but from the backroom chatter it seems that not everyone sees that they have opportunity.

Pros

There is a ton of opportunity to learn and grow in the tech world. While there are day to day tasks to get done, many employees get to try their hand at different projects and generally steer their own career toward things that they are interested in. Everyone that you work with is very intelligent, looking for ways to improve processes, and super nice. This all goes back to looking for talent that matches our values. Executives legitimately care about their teams and, most notably, every single person in our office sits in the open. I’ve never worked somewhere that had this open and accessible of a leadership team.

Cons

We are growing fast, so with that comes growing pains. Merging processes with acquired companies can be tough and no checklist or playbook can cover every possible issue.

Pros

The people that work at Abrigo are all very warm and friendly, they have an amazing culture! Abrigo is attacking hefty goals within the market and looking to expand their product, brand and reach. After 20 years of being in the business, they have rapidly began to modernize and have reignited the companies passion and ability to build excellent software. The chief and management team care deeply about feedback and are always looking for ways to improve the culture, communication and employees overall happiness. They are currently expanding their product and design team which means it is an exciting to be at the company to help refresh and revision the product.

Cons

If you do not want to rebuild a legacy product into a modern SaaS software, this may not be the right fit for you for the time being.
