Pros

- Amazing team members - Work from home - Former CEO was humble, personable, and all-round an amazing dude - Original executives and directors are welcoming, kind, and easy to work with - Snacks were ok, if you could get your hands on them - New office is beautiful

Cons

- Micro-managing directors - Disengaged department executive - Nonexistent role-specific onboarding process; funny since Absorb is in the - LMS/L&D space..... - Corporate culture is laughable - Pay is atrocious - don't even bother asking for a raise Absorb was once a place that was a welcoming, inclusive, fun, "feel good" culture, and had exponential opportunities for growth and development. I took on a new role within Absorb knowing that I was being paid less than industry standards, but the promises made of a raise and growth , as well as the company culture gave me enough reasons to accept the offer. Extremely high turnover with department manager role - and not because of growth. People come in and fill this role annually, and try to copy/paste their previous employers processes and culture at Absorb. There was no room for negotiation or other perspectives. Direction from manager was always unclear, expectations were unmanageable, everything was an urgent top priority, work becomes your life. Working 60+ hour work weeks still didn't allow enough time to stay on top of work. Setting boundaries by saying "no" or negotiating timelines was not an option. Asking questions for clarification purposes was seen as incompetence and weakness. Unless you're in Sales, you will never see the benefits of your hard work.
