This is the 2nd largest Ambulance Service in the US. When you get hired (which you will if you pass your exams and are breathing) they will send you to school in Louisiana or Austin TX. What they don't tell you is that training is at minimum wage. Any way, they will change your schedule without a courtesy call, so you'll either show up 4 hours early for work or get a call on your day off with a manager screaming at you about why you're late for work. So, you have to check your schedule every day. As an EMT there is zero chance for any type of advancement since they only promote Paramedics. You will WANT to become a Paramedic because you get treated like a second class citizen as an EMT-Basic. You are allowed to drive, clean, stock and do medical transfers and that is about it. BTW, you will "post" and drive 300-400 miles per shift! It's really sad that even though I worked 48-60 hours a week, my paychecks were still less than what kids were making at many fast food places.

Don't allow EMTs to work to their full patient care capacity.
