Pros

Many different types of shifts to choose from for people with different lifestyles and needs - 8s, 12s, 16s, 24s. Always overtime available. Protocols are progressive. Health benefits are great. All mental health care appointments are 100% covered with no co-pays and deductible not needing to be met. Literally 100% covered. Probably the most inclusive company I’ve ever for. Come one, come all, and you will find acceptance for who you are here.

Cons

PTO is lacking, and sick time accrual is so minimal it’s a joke. They are both far below the norm for the area. Raises are small and performance based. A lot of knit-picking so you never get the full raise. I once lost out on a percent of my raise because they said “my communication is very good but everyone’s could always be better”. If my communication is good and meeting expectations, then I shouldn’t be deducted just because improvement is always possible. With that thinking no one will ever get their full raises. I also have been encouraged to used my sick time, just to have my raise deducted for using it. My sick time is mine to use and I should not be penalized for using it. We used to have cost of living raises, but those have stopped. Promotions are popularity contests with other employees getting to “review” candidates on questionnaires sent to everyone who works in the region. Constantly getting off late for non-emergent IFTs. Dispatchers are not always good at making sure your crew change is covered so you don’t end up with a late emergency. Would be ok if this was something that happened on occasion, but this have s to most crews on most shifts and so almost no one is getting off on time. Creates mass amounts of burnout and every 6 months or so a group of people quit and leave to the other big service provider in the area.
