- They lie about what you're doing (i.e. I was hired to work on a specific ambulance and drove a wheelchair van without A/C in Texas summer for 4 months without ever being on an ambulance).
- Hours are terrible and you don't have much of a say.
-Forced overtime is common. "Oh you're getting off at 10pm? Well at 8:30pm we're sending you to a pickup 2 hours away, forget your plans for tonight". I also had "Mandatory Overtime" every Saturday (though my normal shift way Mon-Fri)
-Management couldn't care less about morale
-Vehicles/equipment only get "vital" repairs. I.e. A/C in summer is only vital in the back of ambulances. Not the front, not in vans. Prepare to sweat.
-Company treats patients terribly. Scheduling pick-ups weeks in advance just to send trucks all over and not have a single one available for scheduled pick-up. Not only does the EMT/Medic/Van driver get yelled at all day long by angry patients and family, but the patients are often late to vital doctors appointments
