Pros

Convenient commute for those who live in the East Bay, especially if you are in the Tri-Valley. Free parking at Bishop Ranch. Good co-workers who unfortunately....

Cons

...are no longer with the company. Continual layoffs at an alarming rate along with employees fleeing to get away from the toxic environment means this company is circling the drain. There have been no major improvements, innovation or development in the past few years. Continuous reversal of direction and policies. Mismanagement and horrible planning and out-of-control spending killed this company.

Pros

Company received multiple funding of total more than 200 million two years ago and also has a recurring revenue of 100 million. They acquired nine companies to go to IPO. With this money, company started providing free food on three days in a week and game room to people to relax. People are allowed to work from home. They moved the development to USA for better from China.

Cons

What it turns out that company is in negative cash flow now because of irrational spending. All nine acquisition turned out to be failure. Bringing development from China to USA become a major expenditure from them. They started laying off people every six months to compensate the loss. Now , this company can not go to IPO in current state(negative cash flow). Lost all development team in China , therefore, can not enhance the product. They are basically in limbo state. They can not improve the product because of its inherent complexity and old technology. So please do not join this company because of "Good place to work". These are marketing gimmicks this company is playing. They hire few top notch management people. They are covering the reality and showing good face to you and other companies. Beware -- do not fall into these traps.

Pros

- Strong growth prospects / expectations. - Road map has exciting improvements in the future (planned). - Some good new staff come on board recently, but they usually don't last long. - Trying to start offer better perks for office workers

Cons

- Corrosive culture - starting from the top. - Very weak senior leadership. Old timers who are close to each other still in top. Many of them poorly qualified, missing skillsets and no experience in managing larger groups of people. Some aren't even technology literate but are masters of spin. - Lack of professionalism, blame always goes down the ladder, but issues keep occurring. - Earlier this year Accela fired 30 staff without a days notice, while friends of senior leadership were on a 'retreat' in Italy. If you think of joining Accela - be extra diligent in your homework. There are a litany of ex Accela employees out there who would support all of these statements - try to find some and talk to them.
