Pros

You could say you have a job.

Cons

As with most large, corporatized healthcare companies there's a revolving door when it comes to field professionals. Why is this? Speaking for the McKinney, Texas branch and my experience there it was absolutely the most toxic work environment I have ever encountered in my very long healthcare career. There was always a looming corporate culture of greed and disregard for the workers on the front line making the executives a lot of money. In particular, there were two corporate level employees who had regular contact with those of us at the branch level who were shockingly unprofessional. In the case of the regional therapy manager, I have never seen a more unprofessional, unqualified person in that level of management. It's pretty clear there must have been either nepotism or "good old boy" favors getting him to and staying in that position. The other was a nurse educator. On two separate occasions her presentations included blatant homophobic references and false, misleading information shared with the intent of giving field level employees a false level of trust before dropping the hammer shortly thereafter (firing all full-time therapists) at the start of the pandemic. We lost all benefits and were offered embarrassingly low reimbursement for the PRN work we were offered. Therapists, if you are considering this company as an employer, DON'T. Otherwise make sure that you firmly negotiate your area of coverage, productivity expectations, and rate of pay and get EVERYTHING in writing. If you're a relative newcomer to home health or perhaps a new grad I can't imagine you'd stay with this company for the long haul.

Pros

Absolutely NOTHING. I do not write reviews...ever. But it needs to be known. This company is terrible. They took over Southeastern Home Health which was a wonderful company owned by nurses who actually cared for patients and their employees and became the complete opposite of what was ever imagined for Southeastern to begin with

Cons

I could run out of space for this section. Here's some highlights: 1. No raises EVER. Not for nurses, office staff, liaisons, PRN employees, HHA, NO ONE. If someone on here says they get raises, I can guarantee it is a Corporate paid employee who is paid to write fake reviews. We know this bc on our yearly anniversary instead of a nice little gift or even a thank you letter, we get an email to fill this review on Glassdoor out. Funny how every single review has a response to it, so someone monitors this site non stop from AccentCare, and the cons in any state all sound all too familiar over a minimum of 5 years time and nothing has changed. That should be the first clue they don't care about their employees 2. Soon as accent Care took over, or short-term disability that was fully paid disappeared and PTO time for the year that we accrue was lost, plus many other additional perks were taken away and all employees are still waiting for this in writing since we were all blindsided 3. benefits costs have gone up drastically already in one year since the transition and will be going up an additional $200/month starting 01/01/23 for a single person. To give you an idea, I pay $185/month currently and my plan has a $3000.00 yearly deductible 3. 401k is absolute joke. They say they match 100%> complete lie and fraud..what they match is 100% up to 6% of your CONTRIBUTION for the year. So basically to get a $600/ yr match from them, you need to contribute $10,000 that year. Also you must stay with the company the last day of the year or you will not get the match bc that's when they give it (on purpose so people who left get nothing). Also, you cannot borrow against your 401k or withdrawal it until you leave the company and they charge quarterly fees against it. They automatically enroll you in this as well. Complete scam. 4. Extreme burnout is an understatement. You will take at least 1 PTO day monthly for being run down 5. No work life balance. They documentation for home care RN case managers is OVERKILL . I cannot stress this enough. It's been proving that all this documentation is really not needed bc many other companies require half of what AccentCare requires and they still are paid by Medicare and insurance for services. 6. The make RNs salary and LPNs hourly. By doing this, the LPNs never hit a 40 hr work week unless they use PTO and RNs never stop working even on days off 7. Cannot take half of days pay with PTO time available must take full 8 hrs. If you have 7.68 hrs accrued and you were sick a day, you will not be paid for the sick day bc you need 8 PTO hours in order to be paid 8. there is so much more to write for cons but this should already be more than enough
