Poor pay but make your own schedule

Business Outlook

Pros

The patients. Like an independent practice, creating own schedule, have control over which patients you see (e.g. can fire a patient for non-compliance). Supervisors are kind.

Cons

Extremely poor, unlivable wages. Company is poorly organized. Employees are required to put in time that is unpaid. E.g. multiple tasks are unpaid such as care coordination, phone calls to MD offices and patients/families. There is an expectation that clinicians are "on call" to answer email and phone calls throughout the day, even if seeing one patient during the day. There is high staff turnover due to poor pay.

Pros

could have been a great position

Cons

Corporate thinks paying an experienced RN a salary and then work them 24/7 on call, on weekends and throw you 50 bucks shows what they think about nurses. Marketing people calling the shots. Comical. First time ever I had to pay for my own supplies.....totally do not understand the business of medicine period or the heitchy of clinical ngmt.

Pros

Great opportunity for career advancement. Internal and field staff is a pleasure to work with. Great opportunity to help change families lives in the home. Over the last few years, the company has taken a great turn for the better and became a growing company.

Cons

Stressful environment at times, but without stress, there is not growth or success.
