Pros

Bigger company so lots of room for growth

Cons

No work life balance, led to extreme burnout, high caseloads, many clueless “leaders”. Was apart of a start up site. I didn’t expect it to be easy by any stretch but I also expected growth. National leadership tore apart our great team and replaced them with people who are clueless about hospice. Unrealistic expectations, one nurse covering a whole county for on call, being on call excessively led to extreme burnout. I came to seasons to climb up the ladder, instead, they pushed me off. The current DCO of that site is absolutely awful. Has no regard to staff, including ones with equal authority. I wish the site well but they need to get it together or they will sink.

Pros

Large company with decent pay scale.

Cons

Poor support during transition. Misleading information with drastic change in job responsibilities. Focus on making money, not on patient care or retaining employees.

Pros

The relationships with patients, families, and peers.

Cons

Branch management have zero ability to manage their employees effectively. All comes down from corporate level. Maybe shouldn't have a diversity and inclusion department when the field clinicians are leaving left and right due to no work/life balance. We don't need to be told how to approach a conversation with another coworker who is black, Hispanic, etc. Alot of focus in areas that don't have anything to do with healthcare. And why do they instruct their corporate level and upper management people to say a statement and always end it in "...right?". " If we say something a million times over, right, then it becomes more of a fact, right...?" I don't get it. I see right through that. Others do too but lack the will to speak up. How can a company not offer a raise in over 2 years? On call used to be one nurse per weekend, now it's at least 4 nurses per weekend. If you value your opinion in the workplace, this is not for you to be.
