Poor pay but make your own schedule

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

The patients. Like an independent practice, creating own schedule, have control over which patients you see (e.g. can fire a patient for non-compliance). Supervisors are kind.

Cons

Extremely poor, unlivable wages. Company is poorly organized. Employees are required to put in time that is unpaid. E.g. multiple tasks are unpaid such as care coordination, phone calls to MD offices and patients/families. There is an expectation that clinicians are "on call" to answer email and phone calls throughout the day, even if seeing one patient during the day. There is high staff turnover due to poor pay.

Field Supervisor

Business Outlook

Pros

It was close to my home

Cons

I was offered me a hourly pay rate and when I started my first day I noticed my pay was lower and when I said something Branch Manager denied offering more. Branch Manager also played favoritism for people that were brown nose with her, complete control freak and was threatened by smarter people. She is a difficult person to work for. Manipulative and compulsive liar.

Pros

could have been a great position

Cons

Corporate thinks paying an experienced RN a salary and then work them 24/7 on call, on weekends and throw you 50 bucks shows what they think about nurses. Marketing people calling the shots. Comical. First time ever I had to pay for my own supplies.....totally do not understand the business of medicine period or the heitchy of clinical ngmt.
