Decent place for a Software Developer to work

Pros

The environment at AccessData is friendly and you will make a lot of good contacts in the Software Industry Pay was good Benefits were good

Cons

Another layoff happened in December 2018, due to some company financial issues There were two development teams, and most of the C#/C++ one was laid off Hopefully when they hire Software Developers again, the company will be more financially stable and there will only be one Software Development team that will work together instead of two teams competing with each other "A house divided against itself cannot stand." --Abraham Lincoln

Fairly silo'd almost to the point of hostile

Pros

Most clients are thought leaders in their industry space Opportunities to meet and work with great peers across the many business units Embracing "Customer Success" Actively solicit customer input with respect to product capabilities and direction All tiers of support are US based - AD hasn't yet embraced off-shore support services Embracing the Cloud - Expect all Enterprise products to be available soon

Cons

Highly silo'd. While some try, it is rare that most business units seek out collaboration. Some bordering on hostile or belligerent. Business units tend to "clique". Below average benefits compared to other similar companies and industries. Little if any opportunity for advancement. Merit increases are meager at best and until very recently non-existent even for star performers. Heavily revenue driven. Generally does not invest in new capabilities (one or two notable exceptions). Not sure if they have a permanent CEO yet.
