Serious Leadership and Integrity Issues

Pros

Some of the engineers were very knowledgeable. Primary project manager is absolutely top-notch. Impressive ability to hire good talent.

Cons

This profile of AccessData appears to be a duplicate of the original AD profile, possibly created to mitigate the 1.8 rating across 65 reviews on the original. Serious integrity questions related to saying the corporate headquarters is in Menlo Park, CA to secure funding when all non-development and most development staff is in the real headquarters in Lindon, UT. Extremely questionable strategic decisions, e.g., securing a 3-year lease on expensive SF office space then laying off 50+% of the SF development staff 4 layoffs in 2.5 years led to horrible morale issues. No loyalty to employees, and layoffs will occur without warning and without any severance. Communication challenges between corporate office in Lindon, UT and other sites.

Pros

Great employees who work hard

Cons

Poor leadership at the C-Level in decision making, knowledge of the technology and customer needs. Innovation has ceased, and duplication of others is the norm.

Pros

During my 11+ years with AccessData conditions for devs improved steadily, and that's due in large part to upper and middle management putting more and more support behind test automation efforts (as well as increased support for build automation improvement and improved project management). In addition, I appreciated management's (middle and upper) willingness to listen. The communication between management and the rank and file also improved over time.

Cons

During my time with AccessData only one of my managers offered to mentor me and help me to increase in skill. I wish that management had sought to cultivate greater talent from within by encouraging and supporting skill development. One manager shared with me that he felt that AccessData could do better in this regard.
