AF Apollo = A+

Pros

AF took me right out of college, being a 21 year old, with absolutely no teaching experience, and they welcomed me with open arms from the first day I met with them. The team atmosphere is unlike anything I could have imagined. I go to work everyday with a smile on my face excited to start my day. I am surrounded by so many people who work their hardest to make sure our scholars are being as successful as possible. I would not have wanted to start my teaching career anywhere else!

Cons

The con about Apollo or any charter school would just be the long hours.

Pros

I recently started my 9th year at Achievement First, and it keeps getting better and better. Even in my 9th year, I am still receiving helpful positive and critical feedback on a weekly, if not daily, basis that pushes me to be a better teammate and manager. Our schools are finding the balance of being warm and demanding at the same time, and student achievement is increasing every single year.

Cons

There is always more to do each day - working at night is routine at least 4 nights/week. I don't mind it because I see the benefits, but you should know it coming into the organization.
