Pros

You get awesome professional development and you learn a lot in a very short time. Data is constantly revisited so you feel like you can make a difference in the time you have. Employees are exceptional people who care about kids.

Cons

The long hours and pressure can take it’s too. Leadership knows little about coaching adults and it’s difficult to have a positive culture when you don’t feel that the people developing you care about you as a person.

Pros

AF is a truly mission driven organization where colleagues and leadership both believe in the mission and genuinely try to live by AF core values in the work that we do. It is very fulfilling to be a part of school system that is actually making it happen for kids - great achievement results, remarkable college matriculation, etc. AF schools do not always perform evenly, but at 35 schools there are now tens of thousands of kids getting a great education. AF is an organization that really believes in reflection and in developing people. I have been here for over 10 years and every year brings new challenges and opportunities; and I have always felt like have the support of great colleagues and a strong coach / manager.

Cons

As noted in many other posts -- it is exhausting work. Good work, but exhausting work.
