Pros

Great kids who want to learn/please/succeed Hard working/dedicated staff who put their heart and soul into their work Relatively quick way to get one's foot in the door of a teaching career, get exposure in a classroom as a teacher

Cons

Schedule is absurd...The day is exceedingly long...It is a classic example of providing a schedule conducive to working a job rather than a career. Seems as if they expect teachers to be so young that they don't take into consideration that many of them are parents with families --> Additionally, while the hours are unsustainable for prospective returning teachers, they are just as toxic for students. Long school days running deep into the afternoon make participation in after school extracurriculars nearly impossible. AF students have been shown to struggle with their social skills - likely because they spend the entire day in class silently doing math and reading. Inexperienced/underqualified leadership. They mean well and come from a good place, but demand in those positions sees teachers with only a couple years teaching experience suddenly running a school Budgetary constraints Class sizes are too big Must adhere to strict rules applied to a range of different areas...The dean tells you what you must teach on any given day...Most schools require that you use their lesson plans, which are overwhelmingly long and complicated...Very little autonomy for teachers - even when it comes to how they should speak.

Beware of Big Brother

Pros

They will teach you everything you need to know to be an effective and successful teacher.

Cons

Everything, this place is literally Big Brother and glorifies wasting time then "rewards" you with "time back" if their pointless could've been an email PDs take less time. While they do teach pedagogy and taxonomy they use gestapo inspired tactics to do so. Definitely not for the weak, if need be get in and get out.
