Pros

Good curriculum and work/life balance

Cons

Large turnover and last minute decision making, professional development is a waste of time, as are many other tasks needed to be completed by teachers. Too much talking about feelings at staff meetings.

Pros

Teachers care a lot about the kids and work really hard to support them holistically Some great deans in leadership that provide great coaching and support Non-leadership employees are supportive and great to work with

Cons

Leadership touts holding folks accountable and will do so in some of the most degrading ways sometimes with teachers and other staff, but fail to hold themselves accountable when they cause harm to staff. Teachers/staff are at the bottom of the totem pole - you are expected to put up with gaslighting and blamed if the kids are failing, even when you’ve exhausted all avenues and they refuse to do the work. Lack of communication is the way things operate. Unrealistic workload and hours. Folks are forced to take work home and be available on off days/hours. You will not be compensated for this. The increased cost of medical insurance after the 3% yearly raise actually cost me money, therefore I took home less even though I made a little bit more. Favoritism runs rampant No professional development or investment in non-instructional employee Pay does not match the amount of work and time they require from you Limited opportunities for growth for non-instructional employees
