Great people, flexible hours

Pros

Working here was great. The hours are super flexible, so I was able to work here, go to school, and have an internship (which was busy, but necessary). They’re open 24/7 so I worked a lot of night shifts, because that was often the only time I had free. Management doesn’t mind when you work or if you need to switch up your hours a lot, so I imagine this would be great for other students like I was or for newly licensed EMTs that maybe have a few classes left or are trying to balance family life. They’re not stingy with overtime either, so if you’re strapped for cash you can take on more hours if you need to.

Cons

The starting pay could have been higher, but after you’ve been there a little bit they raise your pay and everything is all good.

Lots of adrenaline

Pros

This is my first EMT job and so far it’s exactly what I expected. The rush of adrenaline you get when a call comes in is unreal. The training is incredible though, so you know exactly what you’re doing the first time out and you don’t have to stress about making a mistake.

Cons

None so far, but I’ll make sure and update this review if that changes.

Amazing Experience

Pros

Working here has been the ride of a lifetime (pun intended). I’ve learned more about being an EMT than I ever thought was possible, and it’s been an incredible experience. If you’re new to the field, I cannot imagine a better place to start learning the job. Everyone here is willing to teach you what you need to know, and you’re encouraged to ask questions. You’re never talked down to for not knowing what’s happening. You just work together to ensure that everyone knows what is happening right now and what needs to happen in the future. Whether you’re an EMT or a paramedic, everyone works together to ensure that the people who call on us get the best possible care. The company is also great for newbies because it offers a good mix of both 911-type responses and inter-facility transfers, which gives you a broad overview of the field and really shows you all of the different parts of being an EMT. It’s a fun, action-packed job, and I’ve learned so much since I’ve started here.

Cons

Would love to see more opportunities for upward growth within the company.
