Pro's far outweigh the con's.

Pros

The best reasons to work at Active is the casual dress code, and the flexable work schedule, along with the friendly people that also work there.

Cons

One of the bigger downsides to working at Active is that there are so many people that work for the company that it's hard to place a face with a name even if you work with them on a daily basis by phone.

Management needs an overhaul

Pros

Those who are in a non-management position were great people to work with. What's amazing to me is how all the intelligent people are working their butts off for managers who don't do anything but sit on their butts.

Cons

Again, I don't understand how some of these people are promoted to management positions. For many it was purely out of "putting in the time", while others who are far more qualified are ignored because those in management are afraid to promote for fear of someone seeing what idiots they really are. Sad really.

Pros

The company has pretty good potential, and could be a great company if the right management is put in place.

Cons

It is pretty clear that the company has grown too large for the current Senior Management to handle. There is an extreme lack of communication between departments, and the management does not seem to want to approach the issues. One of the greatest indicators of this is the huge turnover rate. Active has a bad reputation in San Diego as a "turn-and-burn" shop. Another area of concern is that current growth has not been organic, but rather through acquisition of smaller companies that are often of questionable health. The software itself is poorly designed (hence the many dissatisfied reviews from the online community), and the IT infrastructure is outdated and unable to handle the current capacity, much less growth. Security is also a major concern, and one that needs to be evaluated ASAP.
