Pros

- ACTIVEX the employee wellness program is ahead of its time. - Access to deals for activities - Inspirational Employees - The culture of Active Employees will push you beyond boundaries you never thought possible. Their greatest asset are the employees they attract through the brand.

Cons

Their greatest success is their greatest failure. They attract innovative employees by offering a chance to make a difference and then management drains them and they leave. They talk about being great but they don't deliver. - Low Salary - Poor Benefits - Complete lack of leadership - Poor follow through - Top heavy structure -- To many bosses not enough workers - Matrix organizational structure is a failure

Pros

Generally good people to work with and good products. Really enjoyed learning about the VAST suite of products in the Business Solutions division. We also had a nice work-life balance and usually had fun office activities.

Cons

A lack of communication through out the company and a good deal of drama. I never knew what was going to happen next. The company never practiced what they preached about opportunity within the company. Employees were rarely promoted from within or even made aware of other internal growth opportunity. Active was a SUPER FUN company just a few short years ago, despite below average compensation, and very quickly became a very negative work environment.

All about the bottom line

Pros

Very challenging environment that will give you opportunities to figure out how to deal with high stress situations almost on a continual basis.

Cons

- benefits aren't very good - salaries are below market - very focused on the bottom line, almost to the point that it's the #1 priority - product management are mostly "yes" people to senior management - people are stretched so thin that they really can't help each other. - offshored development - not a good work/life balance
