Missing its potential due to poor leadership

Pros

Amazing product, global category-building mission, visionary founder (who is not involved enough anymore), mostly incredibly smart people.

Cons

- Changes in R&D have resulted in huge talent attrition. Much more to come - multiple very senior engineers claiming very low likelihood they're here by early '26. - No clear roadmap direction, with focus being on the wrong segments of the market. - CTO and CRO fight with each other, while neither actually understand our business nor market we serve. CEO doesn't stand up to either of them, cycles through leaders at least annually. All of the above think they know more about the world than they do. - CFO is very strong but either doesn't know or doesn't care that we pay EXTREMELY poorly relative to other large enterprise SaaS comps - Highly political. Leadership claims they care about what people think, in reality just protect themselves. Not merit based - only those that are favorites will advance. Due to leadership toxicity, rarely are high-performers rewarded as opposed to those with silver tongues. - HR also huge prob, are just spies for upper management. Confirmed that they just rat on you instead of helping to find solutions or address problems. - No 401k match is absurd for a global 1300-person company in year 15. Despite all of the above, stil lgrowing very fast and strong balance sheet. Total shame to think it could be growing 2-3x faster, but poor leadership and lack of trust in high performers resulting in attrition and missed long-term potential as company/brand. All these negatives are accelerating a lot recently and can be fixed, but is a very pviotal turning point in coming 4-6 months for this company. Sink or swim

Beneath the Gloss: A Culture That Protects Poor Management

Pros

There are genuinely sharp and kind people at the company who bring value and care to their teams.

Cons

The company maintains a carefully curated image of empathy, inclusion, and employee-first values — but internally, the reality is far less inspiring. Leadership accountability is inconsistent at best, with some managers regularly skipping 1:1s and providing minimal support or direction. When these patterns are raised, HR often responds with canned advice like “try managing up,” shifting responsibility away from systemic issues. Favoritism is quietly embedded in the culture. Visibility, stretch opportunities, and praise are often reserved for those within the inner circle — not necessarily those delivering the most impact. For everyone else, growth can feel arbitrary and unsupported. Feedback mechanisms are weak. Rather than direct, constructive dialogue, concerns are frequently filtered through backchannels, fostering an atmosphere of distrust. In moments when true support is most needed — during high stress or personal hardship — the system tends to vanish. This is a workplace where optics often matter more than outcomes, and psychological safety is more of a talking point than a practice. Proceed accordingly.

Cons

Leadership ignores and subsequently supports the systematic oppression of people of color. This shows up in their hiring process of all of their locations as well as the lack of disciplinary actions of employees who show micro aggressions and downright disrespectful actions to those who are not of the white race. Consequences for non-white employees were far harsher compared to their white colleagues.
