Much cheer-leading, little follow through

Pros

Little positive can be said...

Cons

Private equity ownership currently trying to off-load the company. Cost-cutting is always paramount and salary adjustments, when granted, are capped to meager increases. Strict policy adherence means little flexibility or room for critical thought. Benefits are spartan. Upper management is tone-deaf or indifferent to feedback, which is regularly solicited and purported to be weighed deliberately. Management routinely reneges on promises.

Pros

Good company. Benefits are good. Management attempts to reach out to the staff. Great company for a self starter and someone who can learn on their own.

Cons

Acquisitions have made it had to keep busy as usual. The acquired companies (especially those that are not being sold) are sometimes left to struggle. Lack of training is difficult for any new employee. You learn by trial and error.

Pros

That's a tough one. I really am scratching my head trying to come up with one. Okay...most clients are nice and understanding, until their patience is tested.

Cons

Executive team answers to equity investment firm for which Aderant is just one of its many holdings. The pressure starts there and then rolls downhill to line directors and then on to the rest of the employees. The only measure of overall performance is meeting or exceeding EBITDA goals. The recent acquisition frenzy has created an environment where very few people, including managers, know where to get answers to questions. Policies change frequently. Great employees are leaving as fast as possible. If you have any real world industry experience, this is not the place to seek employment. New hires are generally right out of college (IF they can pass the required DPAT test) and know nothing about the legal space.
