Pros

Working with a few people, Not real hard job, mostly paper work, and phone calls everytime you come in! You work with a few others, but still have you independent time. You get to really know and love your customers. You can be a manager within 3 months after you've been thee, sometimes sooner.

Cons

Lack of security! ALL stores have cameras in the Lobby and the cash registers .In some stores, mthey dont have any camera in the back where the camera is. You'd have to go to the bank and carry thousands of Cash $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. You'd think thet's have top flight security or at least a money truck! They have faulty equipment in stores, and expect you use it til it blows completely out. Nasty, most rudest DDO and DTM (basically supervisor and training manager). If you let your coworkers and yes also the DDO and the DTM your business, Better believe your business will be scattered around within the whole district. I found out so many people got fired from those two!..... Work from sun up until bout 7:30, 8:00, at night. No family time. Sometimes you have to open and close by yourself

Thank you for your feedback. Advance America follows “best practice” in its money handling and offers training on the same cash handling practices found in banking and retail. Security is of utmost importance and individual stores are equipped with a variety of safety features, based on location. Our center security equipment can range from a combination of buzzer doors, panic buttons, security cameras, and more. These safety features are similar to, and in some locations exceed, security measures found in a secure bank branch location

Pros

Easy work, most customers are pretty nice, not a lot of people working in the same center, Never work Sunday's

Cons

Work late every night, work on Saturday's, Expect you to pick up the slack when the manager cannot perform her duties, offer no benefits or vacation for part-time employees, You work just as hard as everyone else for the bonuses offered, but forget about it if you are part time. Only offer one opportunity per year for raises.

Thank you for your feedback. We often hear our team members express one of the top reasons they enjoy Advance America is the ability to help our customers. We have great customers and we're glad we can bet there when they need us. While we currently reserve benefits and vacation to full time employees, we understand our part time roles offer great flexibility for individuals interested in broad work-life-balance, supplementing their income, or gaining experience to kick-start their career.
