Pros

The third GM I worked for gave great support. When I was hired I needed a flexible break time so I could pick up my great niece from school and they worked with me on that. They do try to promote from with in. They also offered a decent benefits package for PT employees.

Cons

The computer controlled the "perfect schedule" which equaled chaos and disservice to our commercial and retail customers at times when we were not able to have the right number of associates available to work and offer the services we were to provide. (i.e. not having enough people to work counter AND check and install batteries, wiper blades and computer codes as advertised). Also during my little over a year with the company they drastically changed the attendance policy. The tardy system to me seemed to not allow any true flexibility for being stuck in traffic, picking up or dropping off children and getting to work from either another job or school.

Pros

Strong company to provide good job security though the ruff economy. Great benefits package for full time work. Fair pay, could be better but far from terrible.

Cons

Illogical micromanagement from no experienced corporate employees. There is no communication from store staff to upper level corporate management, only a one way communication pathway. I have a trade degree, a associates degree, and a bachelors degree, and 11yrs of automotive experience, it would be in the best interest of such a company to look into it's own talent pool to promote to hire positions, but I have had to fight and even hand in my resignation to obtain a raise and promotion, What is earned though hard work should be rewarded not forced from a employer.
