There used to be a ton of Pros. It was a great environment that was very profitable and fun, but we worked hard because we wanted to. We are able to hire our store teams and leaders with minimal disruption.

Cons

Nobody in senior leadership knows anything about this business anymore. I am NOT a "car guy" but I work hard to understand the industry we are in. We are being micro managed down to the hour now leadership. Talk out of both sides of their mouth. "Run your business". "Run your business only this way" We are failing terribly and it is a shame. They have let people go which I understand when you are not making targets but STOP hiring VP's in corporate and sending emails bragging about it. Terrible for moral.

Stable company and growing with the acquisition of Carquest. Good people to work around and a good retail environment

Personal sales goals for Assistant Managers. As my DM said, we were his bench. Then let us in on the playbook more and having to spend less time on the counter. We were the ones who were supposed to be able to run the store when the GM is out and when GM spots needed to be filled, but were blocked out of GM spots when certain things in the office could only be done by the GM. I mean, what part of "assistant general manager" is so hard to understand. Yeah, I get it, we're the ones on the counter leading the rest of the staff to let the GM do his/her job, but c'mon. I shouldn't have to call the DM for permission to do something when the GM is out. Low pay for management. The only way to really get ahead is to become a GM, but when the company is hiring GM's from without because the AGM's aren't being groomed for that spot (I saw other AGM's be with the company for a decade and still not have a shot at the GM slot) it's time to put a better training program in place.
