Pros

The employees at store level are great for the most part

Cons

If you didn't get a good salary coming in the door you will never make decent money They do not promote from within The DM and RM could not run a successful store. The upper managers think they are Gods gifts to retail parts sales. They can't even use the computers in the store correctly. Way to much change week to week, instead of trying to make more sales the store staff is tasked with moving stuff just to do it, the POG will changew next week anyway. CDL is a joke. Managers are mandated to work a minimum of 50 hours and weekends. If you work in an at will state you wil work many more hours than that. Useless acronyms coming out every week, and God help you if you don't know what it stands for. Retail hours, only have 2 HOLIDAYS that the store is closed. Upper management has no clue what is happening at store levels, all they see is numbers And speaking of numbers that is all the employees are to management They activlely employe people that have quit or been fired many times. Then when they are rehired they get promoted to mangement positions. Now cutting payroll again for the umpteenth time in 2 years. In most stores there will be just 2 people working at any given time. No lunch breaks, and when you do get to have lunch it is eaten at the counter while you are waiting on customers. DM never visits his stores, and when he does he poo poo's everthing im the store then leaves a long list of stuff to do then never follows up to see if it was done. Pros

i got to drive around with ac and a radio i can control had a great relationship with my customers

Cons

all the cons are COMPANY level after 17 years i outlived every one I've ever had a problem with in my store DMS are liars and will talk smack behind your back i went though 6-7 in my time only one was good

Decent discounts You make connections in the industry Easy to move up, if you have the knowledge and drive You learn a lot about vehicles even if you start out with zero knowledge Good insurance even for part-time employees

Cons

Company rarely invests in meaningful upgrades Becoming more pushy on sales versus helping the customer Management in the past has had high turnover Understaffed due to unreasonable labor metrics
