Pros

Big on education and credentials and training. Supported and coached when I make a mistake (not disciplined). I learn a lot, the doctor I work with is a good teacher so I feel like I'm becoming a better/smarter nurse. The officers are great. I know they're there to keep me safe but they're also really good people too. I like knowing that in some small way I am making the world a better place by helping inmates. No two days are EVER the same!

Cons

We have to deal with some heavy stuff, high profile cases, suicide, etc. This job isn't for emotionally weak people. You have to compartmentalize.

They want inmates to be healthy

they treat me better than the other companies, I think they see me as a human instead of a body to work, they trust me to do what is right for the inmates and then figure out the rest later..like I don't have to get someone's permission to send someone to the hospital. i think they actually care about our inmates and want to make them better. they check in on sick poeple to make sure they are doing ok and other companies didn't do that.

Cons

I know they're a big company and i'm just 1 person but I just don't see anybody very often and I know I can call someone on the phone even the ceo but it would be nice to see people's faces sometimes
