Pros

Great work culture, plenty of growth opportunity, small company feel with the financial backing of a fortune 500. Earning potential is good, as well--overall a great place to work!

Cons

Rapid growth in an already fast paced industry can be challenging and very stressful at times. Communication across many different departments and divisions can be confusing.

Pros

AdvancedMD has great pay and great benefits once you are brought on perm. They tend to hire most from hiring agencies rather than directly - but once you're hired on permanently it's a great company. You can learn a lot there, and as long as you're willing to ask you'll get an answer.

Cons

The environment doesn't work very well for those that are detail oriented as it's not incredibly organized. Everything has a reason however, so before you act, ask. Even if it doesn't make sense - ensure you don't go against the grain that the company is based on.

Pros

AdvancedMD had figured out how to succeed, and actually be profitable, in a very competitive industry where very few are profitable. The are a company of about 550 employees, so career advancement within the company is more dependent on the company growing, rather than just moving up. That is a very positive thing. The company had many inefficiencies, but I can see a sincere effort to find better ways to get things done.

Cons

Most physicians have already adopted a practice management system at this point, so growth is a challenge. Also, doctors continue to poorly manage their businesses, so the number of private practices seems to be decreasing. Many are forced to work full time at a hospital or large group. AdvancedMD is focused on helping private practices, but very few of them will admit that they need help.
