Pros

Lots of departments hold some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet.

Cons

Upper management is held by some of the ugliest people you'll ever meet-- which happen to be all friends and family of the upper brass. Lower-level employees are seen as numbers, and nothing more. There is no clear development plan for anyone; you will not have much growth here. Quote from managers: "You give them training, and they want to move up or take that skill-set elsewhere. [I don't want to pay for their training because they'll think they deserve more.]" "Employees should be thankful we are even giving them training. We are paying for it. They should submit vacation time for weekend trainings."

Pros

Most fellow employees are pleasant to work with. Depending on how long you're with the company you can work from home up to a day each week. Occasional company sponsored trips. Breakfast provided every Friday. Free lunch provided once a month.

Cons

Very little to no chance for moving up or lateral movement. More likely to get a job title change with a small raise but you'll be doing the same basic work in the same department for the same manager. Managers here have been managers for many years. Depending on your manager and what department you're in you may find yourself having to be on a conference call with the overseas team late at night, or wake up to be on a 5 am conference call. Or required working long hours and if you can't then you won't measure up to management's expectations and be labeled as a trouble maker or lazy. This is the way culture is at Advantech. Lack of training for management leads to a few managers who will abuse their power and make your life VERY difficult. Upper management has a way to say that things will change or improve but actions speak louder than words - you'll see the bad managers continue to be in their positions and continue their destruction of your will to come in to work every day. They won't fire you but make it so you eventually leave on your own. And don't think you will have a HR representative to speak with about any of this. There is no HR department in our location of 75+ employees. Our HR contact in our location is a non HR trained operations manager who is there to process HR docuement and will forward them to our other location where there is a HR presence. When you speak to an actual HR person at our other U.S. location your concerns will fall on deaf ears as they promise investigations but they sweep problems under the rug. This is it in a nut shell and this is how management likes it. Accept it, or quit.

Pros

Actually, there are many Taiwanese working here.

Cons

1. Very Low Salary. 2. Need full stack software developer. Need to run a whole project by your own from beginning to the end. Also, including following maintenance and customer service. 3. One day WFH.
