Pros

I did not find many pros.

Cons

Insanely early work day 330-4 am start time. Huge amount of work that once you finish there’s a stack more to be done. Calls you on days off to come in. High level of stress. Huge amounts of walking. Always understaffed. Underpaid.

Pros

Mission/Values focus on community and caring. Knowledgeable staff doing high stress work. Trying to innovate in the health care business lines.

Cons

Required/Strongly encouraged to work 6-7 days a week 10-12 hour days, instead of hiring adequate number of staff to do the high level of risky work. Would not replace staff when staff resign, instead asked staff to work harder, and puts millions of dollars at risk due to lack of staff to do the required work. Unless you love working and not seeing your family maybe search else where for employment. Missing out on reimbursement do to many silo departments that do what they have always done instead doing what needs to be done to get every reimbursable dollar. Prefers to use consultants than to hire and trust internal staff and internal experts. To much outsourcing of roles that put dollars at risk. Lack of cross functional communication and prevents defense of hospital dollars and increase risk of compliance with regulators.

Pros

It's a job. You might have cool coworkers.

Cons

Being overworked, underpaid, unappreciated, disrespected by managers, not having adequate tools for the job, lack of support or backup for work responsibilities. I could go into detail in all of these areas, but for fear of losing my job, I will not until I have secured alternate employment. They have fired people for less than talking openly about how toxic and incestuous the environment is there.
