Cons

Base pay for a recruiter is $33,000/year Very stressful, you need to have your position filled or else you end up staying late. Long Hours. 7:30-6pm on average Everyone is very immature. You have to do a start dance in front the whole office when you put your first person to work You need to kiss a** to get promoted Commission comes and goes Terrible Benefits You are not special for getting this job. You don't even need a degree. They will hire anyone.

Pros

The people they hire are great and you will have fun at work for the first six months or so. They do take you out to happy hour and let you drink free on the company if they are doing well. There is the potential to earn big bucks but it comes at a price and you won't make it as a recruiter. They give you opportunity for advancement that can seemed forced sometimes. By this I mean they push you into sales even if you are unsure. The average age in the office is mid to late 20s.

Cons

The management is terrible and if things aren't going well they will pass the blame down the line rather than look at themselves. A person one level above you that you work for can make well into the six figures while you are lucky to make in the mid $40s...kind of like a pyramid scheme actually. After six months in the job you will hate it and become either burnt out our feel like someone stole your soul. This may sound harsh but trust me it's true. There is a reason that the average age in most of the offices is mid to late 20s...it's because people quit after a year or two and once you leave you are almost stuck in the staffing industry.
