Lack of Respect from Leadership Hinders Growth

Pros

During my time at After-School All-Stars, I had the pleasure of working with some intelligent, driven, and passionate individuals.

Cons

Unfortunately, the vast majority of those people were reporting to leaders who had little regard for their hard-work and sacrifices and at times very little regard for the at-risk youth that stood at the center of our work. These leaders, when benign, were at times incapable of executing the basic tasks associated with their titles and function in the company. On the more malicious side of things, these leaders would claim the credit of their direct reports while disrespecting these individuals. All in all, this was the most toxic work environment that I have ever experienced.

Pros

- Helping out kids - Okay-ish hours - CEO is genuinly great

Cons

- Strictly given hours below part time - Higher ups can be VERY rude - Sudden changes to plans despite work to make them work within limits/budgets
