Hands on experience working with the children. Opportunities for professional development with the school staff and other ASAS leaders. Consistent feedback from supervisor

Cons

Lack of organization and training before beginning. Time-off is frowned upon since you are working with children and have responsibilities to be in the classroom everyday

Pros

You meet great teachers, faculty, and staff. If you like working directly with students in the after school environment, this will be your greatest reward.

Cons

The management is terrible. Major lack of communication. The team is not on the same page. Very high turnover rate. The budget is almost non-existent. Management will contact you way past working hours. Expect to pay out of your own pocked for materials. Overall, very disorganized and extremely unprofessional.

Pros

Great part-time job. My managers took into consider my circumstance, college student involved in extra-curriculars on campus, and placed me at a school that was close to campus. The kids really love the program and are actually excited to participate, whereas some after-school programs aren't received as well by it's participants.

Cons

Not much to say here. The hours are a little bit difficult (2:30-5:30) but It's an after-school program, so you know what you're getting into right from the start.
