Pros

The CEO Mike has forged a new strategy and is leading Agilent with the battle cry of ’the best is yet to come.’ Mike manages to balance business savy with being a genuinely nice guy. The majority of Agilent staff are smart, extremely smart and passionate people with a genuine customer focus and continual improvement.

Cons

A few bad apples are allowed to pollute an otherwise healthy environment. Unfortunately some of these are senior execs. At a loss to know why this is tolerated when great store, and incentives, are determined by demonstrating The Agilent values. Inconsistencies undermine Mike’s and others commitment to building a best place to work and have good colleagues scratching their heads or leaving.

Pros

Friendly atmosphere Some very creative people Lots of resources available Good benefits Lots of time off Working remotely Career oriented

Cons

Large company so you need many people to approve decisions that can impact the company. Some departments operate in silos. Lower salaries but benefits may outweigh this. Hard to speak with actual HR reps. Hard to move up in company. Some managers aren’t as interested in your development/progression. Some people are totally incompetent in their roles but because they’re older or have tenure they keep their job. Younger people don’t have much upward mobility until they reach mid 30’s. Older employees don’t have a sense of urgency and overall are content with delaying others. Some of the goals for different business groups are competing and result in frustration for customer
