Pros

Great people to work with; very diligent Get to work with the latest technology in the world Very intelligent people; best engineers in the world Good pay - on a national scale Average benefits (unfortunately getting worse) "Golden Handcuffs" comes to mind

Cons

Corporate culture is wandering (running?) from their HP roots; do they still value employees as key to their success? I think not in most cases. They have so much emphasis on the bottom line and trying to be "in vogue" with the latest management & business strategies that they don't really know what their business i any more. There is a big emphasis on centralization and consolidation - what made HP great was their decentralized & autonomous structure and decision making. This has lead to Agilent feeling bloated, bureaucratic and slow to decision making. Unfortunate that most of the senior managers I know are too risk averse and non-strategic in their thinking to take advantage of the growth opportunities in front of them.

Pros

Leading edge of technology. You're surrounded by highly Intelligent working people. A huge campus that could have held 4,000 people. I personally survived 14 layoffs.

Cons

Smile while overseas exploiting poverty and cloak outsourcing as training which the end result was giving American jobs away. Live off HP's reputations until it is time to normalize all aspects. HP was a leader. Agilent is a follower. Money, money, money kept us outside of the customer's head. Shouldn't you know what your customers wants? The CEO's legacy is more important than that the company stands for. Share holders govern the company's future. And seriously...what is wrong with "Made In USA"?

Pros

Flexible working time; professional process and management; mentorship program; Management by objectives; the oppurtunity to learn the programming tecnology and experience the industry process

Cons

The performance feedback review frequency is too low, once per year; the emphasis of the management team is put on the stakeholder, not on the employees; the relative salary difference between America and China is much bigger than other complanies
