Pros

Some great people who really care about the products and our customers are still around.

Cons

Everything is going to India, and even worse, current US employees are being asked to train their Indian replacements. There is a new expectation that everyone will work around the clock, weekends, holidays and during their time off. Layoffs continue to happen, hitting every US location within every department of the company. US hiring seems to have halted altogether and the remaining employees are left with huge piles of work. Pay is not comparable to other large software development organizations. There is very little communication between offices and departments, which leads to constant duplication of efforts. The company is hiring all new developers out of India because they are cheap. Just because you can get 50 people for the price of 1 in the US doesn't mean that this is the approach we should take. Quality is more important that quantity, but this company doesn't believe in that.

Pros

- I've experienced decent work life balance so far. However, due to attrition on-call rates are increasing and it is harder to do feature work instead of putting out fires. - I like my coworkers.

Cons

- Poorly managed trade-off between existing experienced contractors and new devs in India who have been clueless. I have not enjoyed holding their hand, having to stay up late or wake up early to communicate with them, or not being able to understand what they are saying. - The hiring manager in India admits he has no standards - Big attrition by senior engineers due to attempts to force employees to sign NDAs. Senior management is clueless. It's almost hilarious. - Attrition in US is not being replaced adequately. - Software architectures are questionable. Many decisions made by people who no longer work here plague us. - Code quality is questionable. It seems few other engineers have a taste for refactoring code to be simple and readable. - Sometimes absurd sense of cost cutting. Making engineers more productive is more valuable than cutting infrastructure costs. - Some products have contractual obligations to customers. The development of these features is far behind. Either the contract was poorly negotiated, or the development team was poorly managed or poorly populated. - Few people seem to have a good sense of ownership of the code and products.

Pros

I can hardly see any pros.

Cons

The team and working environment is bad. It just wastes time to be there. The senior manager never listen any good advice. People are just talking and like to show off but not actually have any progress. Especially the product managers and some of the senior engineers who think them are old enough to be in the team.
