Goal-oriented, kind achievers

Pros

It is refreshing to work at a company that is crystal clear on goals and objectives. Everyone – and every team knows exactly how their work contributes to the high-level company goals. Strategy is core to our products and to the way the company is run. We practice what we preach! Even better is that our remote team gets together twice a year at a beautiful onsite to celebrate achieving and beating our goals while collaborating on the next six months roadmap and programs. Right there with strategy at the core is kindness. Everyone I work with is kind-hearted, spirited, and takes interest in you as a person not just the work skills you bring to the table. Having worked in the tech space for over 15 years, it is a rare to find a place where both achievement and kindness co-exist – and politics is left behind.

Cons

Being a remote company, I work from home. Although, there are numerous benefits, one thing I miss is my 3-mile a day walking commute. Now, I need to be more deliberate to get my daily exercise in!

Overly controlling management

Pros

The semiannual retreats we get to go on. My former coworkers.

Cons

While the list is long, the biggest issue working here is senior management, but more directly the CEO and CTO. While the senior management are all zombies, seriously none of them have had a single thought on their own, the CEO and CTO created this environment. They want yes men and women. You're never right. You're always wrong. If you want to work in an overly controlling environment, by all means work here.

Chris and I have created the environment at Aha! That is true. I feel badly that you had this experience and wish that you would have shared your thoughts with me while you were in the company. I hope that you will consider reaching out to me so I can understand what led you to write this and how we can improve.

Pros

Truly impressed by the Aha! team each and everyday. Amazing dedication from a team that are all moving in the same direction together. As a former PM, I've always enjoyed a challenge and Aha! continues to deliver. I appreciate how transparent the management team is with each area of the company. One area that particularity stands out to me is the on-boarding process. A well documented process that truly sets you up to succeed in the role.

Cons

Working from home full-time can be a change for those who are used to office life. Retaining the social aspect of work is quite important to me, and we achieve this through Slack, webcam meetings, and one of my favourite aspects of Aha! - our twice a year company on-sites.
