      Ahern was once a great company.

      Pros

      The work atmosphere at the branch level was like working with family. Had great support from the purchasing team in Vegas.

      Cons

      The owner bought out another aerial company and brought with him an ego maniac and his drones. They have infiltrated almost every branch on the west coast. Free to do whatever and many good people and friends lost there jobs. Hipocrisy and backstabbing runs rampid now. Glad I am gone. Constantly walking on eggshells all the time. I did a great job and got nothing but compliments outside the drone circle. In the end I lost but it turned out for the better. The company use to put on great Christmas parties in Vegas and you really felt appreciated. But it was all a phasad it seems now.

      Pros

      Some good people still working for the company, but not much else I can think of at all.

      Cons

      Ahern will promise you the moon and the stars, especially to its customers, but the company is so mismanaged that they have a hard time even keeping track of where there equipment is. Everyone from the owner to its branch managers are on there own page and there seems to be no direction. I was with this company for over 5 years, 5 years too long. In that time I saw many good people come and go. This company is a revolving door of employees. The company just came out of a bankruptcy and in my opinion they are doing the same dumb things that they did to get into bankruptcy. This company has no core values and if you knew the owners, you would know why.

      Pros

      The chain of command was unorthodox. Each department had it's own VP. Although the Branch Manager was intrusted with welfare and economic growth of the facility he wasn't in charge of the Parts Deparment or Service Department. This structure really work well with the people in charge and for the employees as a whole.

      Cons

      Because I worked in the service department and our drivers delivered machines starting at 3 or 4 in the morning, my start time was 2:30 AM and I quit at 1 PM. Having to get up so early sucked but having most of the afternoon off made up for it.
