Work-life balance is critical not only from a personal perspective (affecting employee mental and physical health) but also from a business perspective too (affecting productivity, output quality and profits). For all these reasons and more, we never want to push our employees to feel overworked, overstressed or unhappy. At a group level, HR is working towards improving the recruitment process to ensure that we are always (like you advise) hiring and retaining the right people for the job. Getting this part wrong can negatively impact the workload and stress of teams. As we work on our recruitment processes, please do take your issues up with your line manager. We do not want any of our employees to feel they have no free or family time.
