Eh...Too Much for Too Little

Pros

High quality education with robust standards for work and practice.

Cons

Huge company-you ARE a number. While my regional manager was amazing, at a larger level I didn't feel supported. 24 hour shifts were hard and the pay was atrocious for the degree of work required. So. Many. Forms. Charting takes hours. The pressure to PR is obnoxious and constant. Company doesn't care what the flight is-if its a floor to floor call that will get you off 6 hours late on your 24? Tough. Can't chart at home and guess what-you're back tomorrow! The work life balance just wasn't worth it. Flying for a hospital based program now gives me much better support and balance.

High Risk Low Return

Pros

Only pro was the hiring process which consisted of two interviews and then an offer. That should have been the first red flag.

Cons

Private Equity controlled organization. No onboarding process or training provided. You are sent to their HQ for two days of learning how to turn your computer on and how to open a couple of computer applications. They are looking for a zero to hero hire. Be prepared. Tumultuous with lots of turnover. Was told this was a career-long role and in a couple of short months, the CEO was fired, the VP of sales took off. New executive leadership team created an environment of fear and layoffs. Lots of huge egos and very little tolerance for questioning poor business decisions and strategies. No attention given to the voice of the customer and what would strategically help move the needle. It really gives off the odor of a company trying to be sold.

Decent job

Pros

Ability to travel to different states for work if you want. The education provided is decent. The pay with built in overtime is not awful.

Cons

They me into the company just for them to tell me a month later they are closing that base and knew about it for 8 months. They offered jobs elsewhere in the company, then rescinded those offers from others and offered them float positions in which they had to interview for. There are far too many levels of management and seems to make communication difficult. Pay is not on par with hospital programs in the areas around.
