Pros

Remote work, work from home, co-workers were great, managers really wanted you to succeed. Provided with "swag" including new macbook, and everything you'd need to work from home.

Cons

Only the employees in SF/HQ had perks, as for remote positions - you were SOL and only realized that when you were brought to SF for a week for training. While it was a work from home, remote position - never gave allowance or reimbursement for internet, phone or anything. Pay was awful.

Pros

Perks are ok. Free breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, the food options are not varied and dietary restrictions / allergies are not taken into account. You also receive a quarterly $500 travel "coupon" to use towards an Airbnb listing. The people that work here are extremely friendly and it truly is more like having a second family than having "co-workers".

Cons

Compensation is NOT competitive and raises (or even cost of living increases) are few and far between. Positions that warrant a salary of $120,000 at other bay area tech startups, only receive about $60,000 at Airbnb. Many people (including myself) have had to take a significant pay cut. Essentially this means that Airbnb is not good for the long term, but alternatively is a great short term option to buff up your resume. Working at Airbnb is pretty much like belonging to a cult. If you don't fit it (introverts specifically) you will not succeed. Promotions are not given to the people that are the best fit for the position, but are given to the person that spends the most time socializing outside of work. Also, work life balance is practically non-existent.

Pros

One the surface, one of the greatest places to work. Everyone is friendly, talented, and driven. They feed you three meals a day, and the food is GREAT. There are also kitchens everywhere with unlimited drinks, snacks, coffee, espresso, cookies, and so on. Benefits are out of this world. Pay is out of this world. Office is located in the city so no hopping on a bus to South Bay.

Cons

Leadership is still figuring things out. Half of the staff is contractors. They claim to never have headcount to hire anyone new, but the company hires 50+ people a week. Because everyone here is so talented, everyone feels like they need to have an opinion on everything which causes confusion and things to happen very slowly.
