Just about every metric I can think of at Airbnb is trending up. This includes, but not limited to, business, management, compensation, food, morale, and quality of codebase. The energy is amazing.

Cons

You have to take ownership. To succeed at Airbnb you need to be willing to be the one to fix the problem and lead by example, not the one to complain about it.

I can’t think of any. Maybe remote

Even if you have good idea, you have to live with beauracracy. Most engineers are very weak here. If you are a good engineer, be ready to be attacked by weak engineers, they survived as a group, if you are right about something, they will say you are wrong and they don’t understand you together, managers are behaving the same, I made things crystal clear and they will said they don’t understand. Well, it is simple computer science concepts, and if a lot of people said you are wrong, they you will be wrong anyway . Beaucracy is big here.
