Airspace: A Company of Smoke and Mirrors - What You Should Avoid in a Workplace Environment
Pros
- Everyone seems very positive when you're first hired. However, this is a façade. - They praise your work in front of others... until they criticize it behind your back and you hear about the criticism from higher-ups.
Cons
BEWARE!!!! They have just laid off more than 10% of the company. They are NOT doing well financially. They were not profitable in 2022 and will continue to lay people off because their 2023 situation is no better. - Gaslight, Gaslight, Gaslight. This company has taught me to keep receipts and records for every task, project, and every little thing I work on. There are several people that have taken credit for my work and have received praise and even promotions off of my completed projects. They have been several times that myself or colleagues have been thrown under the bus because "leadership" would rather protect their title instead of owning up to their mistakes. What kind of company has "leadership" that never takes ownership and throws all the "little fish" in the company, under the bus? - You can't have an open discussion with anyone in a leadership position. They want you to do work EXACTLY how they want you to do it and are not open to ideas that might make the work more efficient or effective. - Lack of Diversity - a lot of employees do not respect women, members of the LGBTQ+ community, or anyone that is not a heterosexual male. - No work/life balance even if you're a salaried employee. If you don't respond to your Slack messages in under 10 minutes, then be prepared to have management breathing down your back! -Good luck trying to move up in this company. It's all about politics here. They want you to smile and nod in order to move up. The second you share a differing opinion or express that another idea might be better, they will NOT like you anymore. - This company is claiming to offer a "green" / environmentally-friendly shipping option. This is not backed by evidence or science. This is a desperate attempt to impress potential stakeholders in order to receive more funding.
