Pros

We got to keep our jobs after the merger.

Cons

Where do i begin with this one. They took an amazing airline known as Virgin America out of an airport and replaced it with Alaska. Took out the amazing airplanes as well as the soothing music that was constantly being played at the Ticket Counter as well as the Gate. The software they use is called Image. The software hasn't been updated since the early 90s. The Boarding pass/bag tag printers are constantly jamming causing delays for passengers to get through the TSA checkpoint.

Pros

Customers love Alaska, so it's nice when most people think you work somewhere awesome. Flight benefits and company discounts are unbeatable. There are lots of fun company-wide events throughout the year.

Cons

Communication and innovation within HR still suffer. Many HR and Recruitment employees aren't growth-minded, which can make for a poor environment for learning and progression. Professional development isn't as valued or supported as leaders make it seem. The big-company feel and over-reliance on corporate structure make it too easy to get trapped within your own job duties, not trusted to step outside. Workplace alliances are pervasive, and diversity of thought is only valued on the surface.
