Pros

The culture and people here make this such a great place to work. Travel benefits are amazing, and are the ultimate perk of working for an airline. Flexible schedules, good work/life balance, and plenty of PTO also means you are actually able to use the travel benefits. Management is really starting to invest in IT to bring in the latest technologies and practices, which makes this a very exciting time to be working here particularly as a Software Developer, but also for any role in IT. Lots of training opportunities allow you to grow and gain knowledge.

Cons

Salaries are lower than other competing tech companies in the area, and we are still in the middle of a transformation in IT to a more agile process, which can cause headaches.

Pros

Lots of interesting people, great travel benefits, extensive route network can literally take you places you never thought you would go.

Cons

Very high stress environment, with long hours and an expectation that salaried employees will work 50-60 hours a week most of the time. The airline industry as a whole is very competitive and cost-conscious, and Alaska is no exception. Do not expect great benefits / perks, outside of the travel benefits (which can be hard to take advantage of). Pay is generally below market when compared to other Seattle-area companies, but is probably in line with other airlines.

Pros

Most of the people who work there are great. They love what they do. It's a community of caring people.

Cons

At one time it felt like the company really valued it's employees. But sadly, that era has passed. Shareholders are much more important than employees.
