Pros

Leadership and colleagues alike genuinely care about you as an individual - outside of what you offer at work. Great work/life balance. There's no micro-managing. Lots of room to grow responsibilities and step up to try new things you're interested in. Also incredibly flexible around taking advantage of the flight benefits.

Cons

Compensation is not competitive and HR makes it hard to create the incentives required to retain talent. There can be a top-down culture at a level that feels too granular to defend from the C-suite. Leadership spends a lot of time coming up with processes, but nothing really seems to change.

Pros

Travel benefits (when there is actually space available, which is hard to find in SEA)

Cons

Alaska paid a consulting firm (a nice chunk of change) to put a framework together to help mgmt employees feel that there are career progression opportunities available to them. It's called careermap. Waste of money. After they launched the program last year, everyone had ridiculous new job titles and everyone now reports directly to a director. Poor directors! All the employee relations issues that resulted from this program burnt me out which is why I left this place in a hurry! Ask around and you'll find out that many tenured and talented people have left the company too!

Pros

They care for their employees' well being, competitive pay

Cons

The scheduling can be rough for this role as the senior flight attendants have loads of free time off so being on-call you're always getting called out and sometimes very last minute.
